*Wish list* Hunter Regent Hurlingham boots

10 Oct

Forget using these beauties at a festival.  These are simply fashion boots!   Clearly for nothing more than a heavy downpour.  No mud or horse muck in sight!

Just look at the shiny gold strap detail down the side, very River Island’esque.

I need these in my life!

Festival fever: Fur wellies

9 Oct

I’ve had festivals on the brain for the last week or so.  I think it’s because I would have purchased my Glastonbury ticket for the following year by now.  But due to 2012, theres a break.  Anyhoo my mind has been on the fab wellies I customised for Latitude festival in 2008.

For some reason, rather than just buying fashion wellies I decided to make some furry ones myself…  Oh what a road I went down…

Fur homemade wellies

They took me a month to decorate as I only found out the day before the festival that super glue wasn’t the way to stick fur on boots.  Shame nobody decided to tell me this earlier, then I wouldn’t have nearly lost my sight!

Yes, really!

I was trying to open a super glue tube and it wouldn’t open so I went to cut it and it sprayed back in the eye… luckily I had on glasses or I would’ve been left blind.  My glasses never fully recovered… ( Apparently the glue was even too super for nail varnish remover! )

Anyway once they were done they looked this all the way around.  They were rock hard, but still comfy enough to walk in.  On the first trip around the site I had a lady ask me where I got them.  I was proud to say I’d made them.  Whoo hoo!

After a few days bits started to come away ( grrr! ) but I just let it go.  By the end of the festie most of the foot section had peeled away.  Boo hoo!

I vowed to attach more fur for the following year, or make new ones with canary yellow and turquoise blue fur, but the thought of the stress it took to make these ones made me head out and buy some bright Original Red Hunter boots.

I must add that I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Hunters and they’ve served me though two festivals, horrid winters, rain downpours and a fair few heavy snow falls. Yet they still look and feel like new with no scratches.  I love wearing them in winter, especially as they’re so bright!

Roll on winter I say!
