New Look kisses goodbye to the TALL range…

I got the shock of my life when I went into my local New Look this weekend and found the TALL range had been removed.

I can honestly say I used to hate New Look as I always saw it as another Primark, just with more colours.  All of that changed once they started to focus on fashion rather than just cheap fashion.

I recently took an overdue trip to Oxford Street on the lookout for Tall clothing, as my local is high street is limited.  What I found was startling…

Model’s height, 5’10…

I’ve recently noticed a new trend with online retailers labelling their trouser descriptions with ‘Model’s height, 5’10‘, instead of the inside leg measurement.

Do Tall fashion tights exist?

Am I the only one struggling to find fashion opaque tights for Tall girls?

Primark fashion tights

I’m not a fan of plain black tights.  Boooooringgggg!

I much prefer bright fashion ones you find in the likes of Primark.  They tend to do rainbow colours and design print ones.  The greatest point is they’re 50 denier and nice and warm in the depths of winter.  Bonus!!!

The problem is I can’t find any of these styles for Tall girls.  The ones I’ve managed to find are around 15 denier and in either black or brown.  Really?

A couple years back, Primark became my best friend again after a long break.  I needed coloured tights as cheap as possible and they were the only high street store with a rainbow collection, plus they went up to XL.  Get in!

New Look Tall = SHORT…ish

Oh dear oh dear oh dear… Look at what I stumbled upon today at New Look?

New Look Tall = 35"

Yes, as you can see, New Look have decided to revamp their Tall range and cut an inch off the trouser length.  Oh dear!

I thought it was a one off, but the more I scrolled down, the more I noticed all of the trousers are now labelled 35″…   Strange because I bought the red one’s above a while ago and they’re definitely a 36″ leg.  I even measured them to double check!

This will come as a massive blow to the many Tall chicks out there, especially since New Look have done so well with expanding  the Tall section.

What a set back.  Guess I’ll just have to buy their tops now.

How does this happen?

Four tops, one shop, four sizes

I casually went shopping in New Look last week and found a variety of different style tops: Two vest tops, a casual T shirt, a smart casual top and a long sleeve blouse.  I tried on all items and left with each item in a different size, 8-14.

Umm… WHAT?

TALL girls come up short…

Do you come up short?

At just over 5’9 and a half tall (a-hem), clothes shopping has become both a chore and bane of my life.

I have a petite torso (not funny) and 37″ legs (hip hip hooray!). With a modelesque height and legs the length of the Amazonian river why is it so hard to find anything on the high street for TALL girls?

• It’s never simple.
• You have to plan.
• Nothing ever fits.
• Ankle swingers are a frequent occurrence in the changing room.
